In 1980 CENTA has already pioneered the CENTAMAX design and it became a trendsetter.
Now again CENTA has developed an outstanding improvement of the CENTAMAX idea, namely the CENTAMAX-HTC (High Thermal Capacity).
Modern Diesel engines require couplings that can dissipate much higher energy loss, caused by increased torsional activity. Therefore CENTA has designed the HTC version, where the allowable energy has doubled, compared to the equivalent standard coupling. The new HTC version has got an internal slot, thereby increasing the coupling surface by 50% and halving the heat path. These effects, together with good internal and external ventilation have let to this outstanding improvement.
Intensive FEA, field tests on our new state of the art dynamic test bench and field tests have confirmed the high energy loss.

The rubber disc is free to float axially in the outer ring and no axial forces are generated by the transmission of torque
This extraordinary improvement considerably reduces the internal temperature of the coupling, increases the lifetime and in many cases permits the use of a smaller coupling or avoids the necessity for an expensive, complex and space demanding double coupling.
