CENTA showcased its products at the International Trade Fair for Transport Technology in Berlin for the first time from 23. – 26. September 2008. Many newly developed products were on hand for the railroad industry’s rolling stock – always true to their motto "CENTA – Leading by Innovation".
In particular, the new CENTAFLEX-T, an absolutely compact drive coupling based on the well-known "feather key" for application in LVRs and streetcars close to the wheel set raised expert trade visitors’ interest. The new element is a streamlined construction for the coupling’s components achieved by transferring the approved concept of radial-axial screwing used for the CENTAFLEX-A to the T-model. With additional upgraded performance through numerical methods, the new CENTAFLEX-T will be available at the beginning of 2009.
Another novelty is the steel membrane coupling for 1-bearing alternators resp. drives. Electrical insulation via the coupling is now ensured by an innovative bolt coupling featuring a bolt with high-thermal resistance and electrically insulating characteristics. Moreover, the new flange bearing housing coupling with a lifetime-lubrication bearing unit and the CENTAMAX-HTC were met by an appreciative audience. Another highlight presented as concept study, was a sophisticated solution for a sliding element, free of axial forces, for a universal joint shaft.
The great interest of the trade visitors confirms, once again, the appeal of the CENTA product range for the "rail". With new and established products in the area of drive technology, CENTA is a partner for the railroad industry offering innovative and successful solutions.
