CENTA brings more flexibility for couplings
CENTA will showcase the CENTAX-SEC 200, a coupling spanned in two parts, at the Nor-shipping in Oslo, June 12 – 15, 2007. The innovative system includes advanced components which allow optimal elasticity in all directions. So the type series leaves the inelastic ring form behind and more flexibility comes into play.
A regular coupling has an economic life-time of approximately 50.000 hours as well as compulsory maintenance rates. This requires constructional elements which allow a preferably uncomplicated installation. The CENTAX-SEC 200 meets this claim. Since the conventional ring elements of the type series CENTAX-SEC 100 and the segments of the CENTAX-SEC 200 have the same form, the compatibility persists. For shipbuilding it is of significance that the installation doesn’t require a lot of space and assignment. The CENTAX-SEC 200 causes clear advantages with regard to the price because of a significantly simplified maintenance and repair. The segmentation allows an uncomplicated assembly and disassembly as well as an easy replacement of single parts. Due to the modular construction, a better cooling of the coupling is possible. The otherwise existing detriments of a spanned coupling, namely heightened bending forces, are prevented by CENTA by a patented "tilting protection". This protection balances leverage forces, which are generated by the segmentation.
CENTAX-SEC 200 is showcased at the Nor-shipping in Oslo, stand B 03-12, June 12 – 15, 2007.
