Highly flexible couplings tailored to application needs
CENTAFLEX-A will be presented by CENTA Antriebe Kirschey GmbH at this year’s bauma in Munich. The CENTAFLEX-A is another coupling design in the patented CENTAFLEX-series. The idea behind it: one highly flexible element which enables a highly flexible coupling to be custom built for almost any application.
The CENTAFLEX-A features high torsional elasticity and misalignment compensation as well as shock and vibration absorption. With a nominal torque of 12.5 kNm, it can virtually be used for any Diesel or gasoline engine. The design is robust and maintenance-free, making it the perfect link to the flywheel-side as well as for the front end power transmission at the crank shaft. Typical applications are: conveyors and materials handling technology, agricultural machinery, hydraulic excavators, vibration rollers, machine tools and many more.
The CENTAFLEX series is based on a highly elastic polygon-shaped rubber element with metal parts vulcanised in which is extensively flexible in any direction. The screws connecting the rubber element with the hubs are alternately arranged axially and radially. The screws produce a preload pressure stress by radial compression of the rubber column, in turn raising the capacity of the coupling and compensating any tensile stress occurring in operation.
The rubber elements can be supplied in various shorehardness grades permitting a wide range of torsional stiffness for different couplings. The standard design features natural rubber elements for high loads and excellent temperature resistance. A special type of the oil-resistant CENTAFLEX-A is equipped with a silicone rubber element which makes it the perfect solution for temperatures up to + 150 degrees Celsius. Additionally, the rubber element is air-flushed all around, improving easy heat dissipation.
The hubs have simple cylindrical or flat mating faces without cams or recesses. This means that other existing elements (e.g. flywheels, brake discs or gear-wheels) can easily be used as hubs. Together with the patented no-wear CENTALOC clamping, the hub can be fitted to pump shafts and involute gears free from play and without wear.
Showcased at the bauma, hall A4, stand 213, April 23 – 29, 2007.
